IT trainers need flexibility for the coming year. As we report in this issue the IT training industry is now into its third concecutive year of recession. Although there are some positive signs for 2004, there are some measures training companies can take to ensure positive results this year. Flexibility is the key to sucess. Be prepared to offer shorter, more specific training courses. Take care to consider the optimum balance of web-based and conventional training approaches. With this in mind, go for the hard sell. Any company that says it cannot afford to train its IT personnel deserves everything that happens to it. For the price of a few days' training, savings of millions can be made. The time to prospect is when you still have business, not when you wake up one morning and realize you have nothing coming in the door. You know how long it takes to develop a new account properly. Have faith in your product, have a flexible approach and get out there! Taking the steps that I have outlined should leave you ready to take the best advantage of the recovery when it comes. Early signs of growth are already taking shape and IT recruitment is growing. Overall, there are great possibilites for IT training in 2004.
